Practices and Games
Practices will begin the week of April 18, 2011. You will be given your team
roster and contact information. It is the coaches responsibility to contact their players about practice and game times. Once
games begin practices will end. Games will begin the week of May16, 2011.
If it is raining it
is the coaches decision whether to hold practice or not. For Games, information will be posted on the home page by 4:00pm
whether games will be played or not. If it starts to rain while games are in progress, the board member on duty and/or
the umpire will have the responsiblilty to call the game.

Coaches Certification
In March MGSA holds a coaches certification. The certification is through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. All coaches are required to attend this training. The cost is paid for by MGSA. The hour long training
provides MGSA coaches liabilty insurance. The date of the 2010 training is: Wednesday March 30th,
2011, 5:30pm to 7:45pm at the Marshalltown Public Library. Coaches certification will take place first
followed by the player draft. All coaches must attend the draft night.
If you are coaching for the 2011 season,
MGSA will reimburse you for the cost of your membership renewal. Please contact a board member on draft night for arrangements.
